In 1990, thanks to the commitment of Nicola and Barbara, the winery had its own wine cellar, built under the vineyards in order to protect the landscape and provided with the most technologically advanced equipment. For a long time the company was focused on the production of red wines, especially the Cabernet Sauvignon – one of dad Francesco preferred wines. In the early seventies he went to France to select the Cabernet Sauvignon rootings to be planted on the property. The focus on red wines, however, did not prevent Nicola from taking on, in the early nineties, the production of the traditional method, beginning with a small stack of 3,000 bottles. In just a few years, the attention surrounding Balter’s Trentodoc wine grew quickly and the awards became more and more frequent. Nowadays half of the production is made up by Spumante wines, whose range was integrated with Riserva and Rosé. Still wines are nonetheless a fundamental part of the company. Thanks to Nicola, the production of the Cabernet Sauvignon grew harvest after harvest, together with that of Lagrein-Merlot and Barbanico. The white wine of the company is the Sauvignon. Nicola and his son Giacomo take care of and foresee every step of production: from the growth of the plants to the smallest but nonetheless essential details in the wine cellar.
